Leg vein laser treatment is a cosmetic medical-aesthetic protocol that uses an Nd:YAG laser to address reticular veins and small varicosities, complementing — never replacing — the medical assessment of underlying venous disease.
Book consultationNo. This is a cosmetic laser protocol for small reticular veins and spider veins. Larger varicose veins, leg heaviness, swelling or pigmentation changes need a vascular surgery or phlebology consultation, often with Doppler ultrasound, before any cosmetic treatment. Ronal Perdomo, APRN, FNP-C refers patients to vascular specialists when the clinical picture indicates underlying venous insufficiency.
No. Sclerotherapy injects a solution into the vein to close it from the inside; Nd:YAG laser closes it from outside the skin using selective heat. Both have valid indications, and they can be combined in a planned protocol. Some veins respond better to one approach, while a complete plan can include both, depending on the vessel calibre and depth.
Typical plans run between two and four sessions spaced six to eight weeks apart, depending on the density and depth of the veins. We document the area in standardised photographs and reassess before each session, continuing only while measurable improvement is observed. Larger or deeper vessels may require additional visits or a complementary sclerotherapy session.
